Cycling Towards A Greener Manchester!

Date Published 06 November 2012

Here at We Let Properties, we are keen enthusiasts of all things Manchester and all things eco-friendly so we think the new cycling incentives being introduced by Transport for Greater Manchester (TFGM) are awesome!

Following the successful introduction of a cycle hub in Bury, the system is now being rolled into Manchester City Centre. For a small annual membership fee, TfGM provide secure, undercover bicycle storage along with lockers for safekeeping of your bike and equipment whilst you're in work. It's hoped that this great new facility will encourage more people to cycle to work and let's face it...when the benefits of switching to pedal power include increased fitness levels, no expensive petrol and lowering your carbon footprint...who wouldn't want to give it a go?!

Yesterday, and for the rest of this week, the new cycle hub in Piccadilly Gardens invites people to come in for a preview before opening it's door officially on Monday 12th November. Going an extra mile than the Bury hub, the City Centre hub - located in City Tower, also provides showers and changing areas so after an invigorating cycle, the City Centre professional can still turn up for work as smart and polished as they would stepping out of the car!

There are even opportunities for employers to offer cycling incentives to encourage their employees to give it a go and help create a healthier workforce and a handy cycling journey planner.
